This week students put the finishing touches on classrooms, murals and community centers, planted trees and wrapped up english lessons. Host families and students celebrated together the experiences and meaningful relationships that were fostered over the past weeks. Most groups are now off to the final travel portion of the program! Hola! If you’ve been following our journey in Ecuador you know we were last in Peguche. While there we hiked up a dormant volcano (Lake Cuicocha), shopped in the renowned Otavalo Market, and learned about dream catchers from one of the Homestay parents. With a mix of getting to know the locals and playing more soccer in our free time.
Since Josie’s and Anthony’s blog we have left Momi’s farm and are now camping in Miloli’i. This is the last fishing village on the Big Island and we are lucky enough to have been invited here by Ka’imi.
