Teen Community Service & College Level Teaching Internships in Africa, Asia and Latin America
The Global Routes Diversity Fund was created to make the Global Routes experience possible for students who otherwise, due to financial reasons, would not have the opportunity to contribute their energy and special gifts to our projects. Over two decades of experience have demonstrated that providing scholarships increases the diversity of our student body and thus the depth and quality of our programs. Everyone is rewarded when a group of ambassadors, truly representative of the North American population, works together with local community members toward a common goal, conquering stereotypes along the way. In this setting, participants learn to recognize similarities and to respect and appreciate differences.

We grant financial aid based on the following three criteria:

1. Student Merit

2. Student need

3. Space availability

To apply for financial aid, contact the Global Routes office for a scholarship application and submit the following:

1. The completed scholarship application form and all necessary financial documentation

2. The completed program application and a deposit of $600.

We will not cash your check for $600 until you have accepted a scholarship placement. We will be happy to return your check if you decide not to continue with the process or if you are not granted sufficient aid.

Please note that submitting a financial aid application does not guarantee a place in a Global Routes program. We cannot guarantee placement in a program until the $600 check is deposited. Please read carefully the "Terms and Conditions" for participation to familiarize yourself with Global Routes' refund policies.

All financial aid applications, including all necessary financial documentation must be received in the office by April 1st. We evaluate all financial aid applications at the beginning of April and will let families know by April 15th whether or not we are able to provide a scholarship. Remember to consider flight and equipment cost when calculating how much funding you require.

Helpful hints:

- It is best to be as flexible as possible when choosing programs you would like to do in order to increase chances that there is space available. For instance, listing any Spanish speaking country is better than listing a specific country and specific dates.

- It is helpful if you are able to decrease the amount of funding you will need from Global Routes. We encourage you to explore other funding sources such as local religious organizations, civic organizations like your local Rotary Clubs or your school. Other options include fundraising or looking for grants.

If you or anyone you know would like to receive a financial aid application, please contact Global Routes.
