FINANCIAL AID
Global Routes strives to make our programs accessible to students who otherwise, due to financial reasons, would not have the opportunity to contribute their energy and special gifts to our projects. Over two decades of experience has demonstrated to us that providing financial aid awards increases the diversity of our student body and thus the depth and quality of our programs.
We offer aid packages of between 10% and 50% off the program fee, which is exclusive of airfare.
Financial Aid Awards are based on the Following Criteria:
- Student Merit
- Student Need
- Space Availability
To apply for financial aid please print and mail the following:
- Completed High School or Gap Year/College Financial Aid application form and the necessary financial documentation
- Completed High School Program Application or the Gap Year/College Program Application.
- Deposit Check in the amount of $600.
We will not cash your $600 deposit check until you have been offered, and accepted a financial aid package from Global Routes. We will return your check if you decide not to continue with the process or if you are not granted sufficient aid.
Please note that submitting a financial aid application does not guarantee a place in a Global Routes program. We cannot guarantee placement in a program until the $600 check is deposited. Please read carefully the "Terms and Conditions" for participation to familiarize yourself with Global Routes' refund policies.
Financial aid requests for Gap Year/College Programs should be submitted as early as possible as these awards are granted on a rolling basis. For High School Programs, priority is given to students who apply prior to April 1st, and most awards are made in mid-March. We will continue to make awards after this time if there is funding available.
It is best to be as flexible as possible when choosing program options to increase the likelihood that we can place you in a program. Please list up to three program choices on your application.
Additional Fundraising:
Many students supplement their financial aid awards with additional funding sources. These include local religious organizations and civic organizations such as the Rotary Club.
Global Routes also partners with Equal Exchange, an organization that allows students to fundraise through the sale of fair-trade products.
If you have questions about the financial aid process, please contact Global Routes.
