PUERTO RICO DETAILED ITINERARY
Begin your exploration of Puerto Rico in Old San Juan, for your groups’ orientation. There you will get a taste of Puerto Rican culture, get to know your group mates and leaders and review your trips itinerary. Orientation commences with a ferry ride to Vieques.
COMMUNITY SERVICE & CULTURAL EXCHANGE
The community service component of your program will begin in Vieques, where you will gain knowledge about the history and current events of Vieques, and learn about Puerto Rican culture by volunteering in a community center for The Fort Conde Museum. Also while in Vieques you will get your share of adventure through snorkeling, swimming and kayaking on a bioluminescent bay.
Adventure begins in the Toro Negro Rainforest, where your group will push their limits as you go canyoning and ziplining through this lush tropical paradise. You will also tie in another service component at Las Casas de la Selva doing eco-service, and finally hitting the waves on surf boards in Aguadilla. Your program will then travel to Viejo San Juan. to explore the quaint cobbled streets of Old Town, and take a travel group photo at El Morro, a classic Spanish Fort. All good journeys must come to an end, so to make sure the group is able to trade stories, laugh till your sides hurt, and make plans to stay in touch with your new friends the group will attend a delicious end-of-trip banquet. The following day, you will fly back to the US with your group.
