CAMBODIA DETAILED ITINERARY
IN-COUNTRY ORIENTATION (Days 1-5)
COMMUNITY SERVICE AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE (Days 6-16)
After your orientation experience, meander to the countryside to your rural homestay, the pinnacle of your Cambodian cultural exchange experience. As you make a home here for 10 days, you become woven into the fabric of your host family’s humble daily life. Work alongside community members to construct a classroom or community building needed for important village gatherings. Teach English to local children who gather after school to spend time with you and teach you Khmer. Prepare kuyteav, a hot bowl of ricenoodles in broth, with your host mother for breakfast. Feel the coolness of sodden earth under your feet as you plant rice in paddies. Make new friendships through shared experiences in tis unique cultural immersion opportunity.
TRAVEL ADVENTURES (Days 17-21)
A closing ceremony and heartfelt community farewell lead to your departure from your host community. Together with your group, step back in time to explore the ruins of Angkor Wat, one of history’s most impressive cultural achievements while you relax and reflect at a quiet ecolodge on the outskirts of this striking architectural treasure.
