Already @ final travel

Hope everyone is doing well.

We left the community just this morning feeling a mix of sadness because we left our Kenyan families behind and excitement because our final travel is just starting.

The classroom we helped build looks great. It is all finished and painted, and it will be all furnished with desks and chairs in just a matter of days. We also bought an 8,000-liter water tank that was built near the classroom to collect rain water for the students at the school. And we did not forget to also buy school supplies for all of them. We feel like our mission has been accomplished, and well accomplished!

We are now in Kakamega just running some errands on our way to Kericho town. We will be visiting a tea factory/plantation this afternoon and heading to the famous Masai Mara tomorrow. We can’t wait for our safaris there. After Masai Mara, we will be on our way to Lamu to a relaxing time at the beach.

We can’t believe it will be just a few days until we are back. We miss you all, but we are surely having a great time her in Kenya. We will keep you posted with more news and pictures as soon as possible.

The GR Kenya 2011 team!

Hola! If you’ve been following our journey in Ecuador you know we were last in Peguche. While there we hiked up a dormant volcano (Lake Cuicocha), shopped in the renowned Otavalo Market, and learned about dream catchers from one of the Homestay parents. With a mix of getting to know the locals and playing more soccer in our free time.

Final Days in Hawai’i

Since Josie’s and Anthony’s blog we have left Momi’s farm and are now camping in Miloli’i. This is the last fishing village on the Big Island and we are lucky enough to have been invited here by Ka’imi.
